Hostel

Hostel facility brings togetherness among students. Our college is a women’s college, most of students coming from nearby villages, and they are demanding for hostel facility because of inconvenience mode of their transport. Presently we have hostel facility with 35 rooms having capacity 80 girls’ students. This hostel built through UGC XII plan under scheme of women’s Hostel Grant.
Ladies hostel provides well ventilated comfort facilities. The topmost priority is given to 24×7 security along with healthy atmosphere and hygienic food to the residents. The basic facilities of the hostel include security cabin, guest room, hostel office, counseling room, rector residence room and students’ residence rooms. Each room is well equipped with beds, cupboards, tables, chairs, tube lights, ceiling fan, mobile charger point and dustbin.
All rooms in the hostel are self-contained. Common washroom facility is provided to each wing and they are cleaned every day by outsourced housekeeping agency. Moreover to this to avail the needful things in time College runs a Savitri Consumers Stores for the students. Hostel is facilitated with Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine,Solar system Canteen, Reading Room Fresh and pure drinking water facility.

Aims and Objectives

Aim: To provide convenient and comfortable stay for the outstation female students.

The objectives of Hostel are as follows:

  • To provide a home for students and to help new arrivals to become adjusted to the new environment.
  • To offer the right atmosphere for study and interchange of thoughts and ideas.
  • To create awareness to social and moral values for improving the quality of life through education.
  • Hostel life taught student to live independently, and how to deal with the other students and roommates.
  • Hostel life also makes students more ambitious, those students who have stayed in hostels are more self-reliant and confident than other students.
  • Students will pay more attention towards their learning.
  • It creates sense of co-living which helps to nation building.It will assist to inculcate ethical values like honesty, devotion, co-operation, loyalty among students.
  • Students will manage time effectively and neatly due to avail of hostel facility them.

Monitor the admission procedure. Supervise day to day working of the hostel. Maintaining of the discipline in the mess and mess related activities. Receiving the student grievances, report to the concerned authorities and get them resolved. The committee will enquire the cases of breach of hostel conduct rules pertaining to a hostel and take suitable action along with respective authorities. Sustaining the quality of food and cleanliness based on the supervision and feedback. The committee will act as a back-up for the residential warden when the residential warden is on leave.

Periodicity of the Meeting

The Committee will meet twice in a semester on August/ September and April/May in semester and whenever required.

Rules

  • Rules Regarding Admission

    The student who wants to take admission in the hostel should apply in the printed form only. Identity size photograph must be affixed on Admission form. Students from Satara city will not be admitted. The annual hostel fee should be paid along with the application form.
  • Important Notice

    The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the hostel. Students in hostels are required to attend theory and practical periods regularly. No teaching class can be attended outside the hostel rules. A student who behaves irregularly and misbehaves as well as disturbs the discipline of the college and hostel will be disciplined. No complaint will be entertained in this regard. The said behavior will be considered as ragging and will be considered an offense under the Ragging Act 1999.
  • Regarding stay and leave

    One cannot leave the hostel without the prior permission of the Rector. A student absent without prior permission will be liable to penalty or cancellation of admission to the hostel. When going to a provincial or local place, you have to register in the relevant register. If you go outside the gate, the entire responsibility will remain with the student. If you are going home for two or more days, you should submit a written application to the Rector after taking the permission of the head of the department of your school or college. Also, if you want extended leave, send the application again. While going on a college trip, you have to submit a letter from the college or subject head regarding the trip. When leaving the room, lock the room and keep the key.
  • Rules relating to timing

    If going out on a day, be present at the hostel before 6:00 PM. It should be noted that the gate will be locked at 6:00 pm and the parents will be informed that the students will not be allowed to enter the hostel if they arrive after this. The gate should be closed every time you leave. Time to talk on the phone with mother and father in the evening. 6.30 to 6.45 will remain. It should be noted that in the evening the meal time in the canteen will be from 6.45 to 7.30 followed by study time.
  • Cleaning Instructions:

    Students will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their own room, hostel premises, toilets and dining hall. Every Sunday from one and half hour. Every student has to contribute to clean the area around the class. If the room is found untidy, fine will be charged from everyone in the room. Care should be taken that the atmosphere in the hostel is always pleasant, clean and conducive to study. Clean your room and outside area twice a week. Only put dry waste in the dustbin. Clean your plate regularly. Care should be taken not to waste food, but if any food remains, it should be disposed of in the dustbin in the mess.
  • Conduct

    Maintain peace in the room; do not disturb the study of others. Instructions given by Rector or Secretary have to be followed. Treat everyone with playfulness, affection, friendship, treat elders politely. Radios, tape recorders and any other musical instruments are strictly prohibited in the room. Student's daily presence in college, conduct, examination, attendance etc. It will be considered whether to keep them in the hostel or not in the next session. Instructions related to water and electricity should be followed strictly. If there is a complaint regarding it, a written complaint should be submitted to the Rector. Also, the lights in the restroom should be used for work purposes.
  • Notice Regarding Relatives

    Only mother, father, brother, sister will be allowed to visit. The names of the relatives who are likely to come to visit have to be informed in writing to the Rector, other than that no one will be allowed to visit. Parents should meet their children on Wednesdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm only in the guest room, not outside or in the college.
  • Internal Arrangement

    The designated Rector of the hostel will have all the internal supervision powers to see the entire internal arrangements of the hostel. The Rector will control and supervise the students regarding discipline, studies, sports and general behavior as per the policy and orders of the Hostel Committee. All female students of the hostel must attend all the functions of the hostel. No one can be absent from the programs on 15th August, 22nd September, 26th January.
  • Accommodation Instructions

    Only officially admitted female students can stay. Friends and relatives cannot be kept in the hostel. Personal valuables, money, textbooks or any other items are to be taken care of by the students at their own responsibility. Hostel will not be responsible for theft or loss of any item.
